Dear parents and community members,
We want to inform you that the Bandera County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a potential threat of an act of violence at the Bandera Middle School possibly made by a student today during dismissal. We received the information this evening. We take all threats seriously and have taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Following the investigation with law enforcement, the student in question has been identified. While we cannot discuss individual student discipline, according to the Bandera ISD Code of Conduct, any student who is found to make a threat towards the campus is subject to immediate removal. We want to assure you that we have taken immediate action.
We also want to emphasize that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, as well as being transparent with our community. We take all threats seriously and have protocols in place to ensure that our school remains a safe and secure environment for learning.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Sincerely,
Gary Bitzkie
Bandera ISD Superintendent
