Girls Volleyball Recap vs. Devine on 9/6/23

Wednesday night your Lady Bulldogs hosted Devine in a nail biting Homecoming volleyball match. Pyper Barnard was on fire with 4 stuff blocks and Isabella Pace and Kinli Mcintosh were killing it on defense with 6 digs each and Briley Clark teamed with Mckenna Jones were racking up points with their strong serves. In Set 1 we came out strong and defeated the Lady Fillies 25-23. In Set 2 we got too comfortable and lost 20-25. Set 3 proved to be a true act of fighting for the possession. We lost 9 -15. I am so excited about the progress the girls made in just one week with transitioning on defense and court knowledge. The integrity and fight of these young ladies is one to be recognized. We will be traveling to take on the Uvalde Lady Lobos on Monday, September 11th. 

 

Last night's volleyball game was a display of grit and skill, especially from key players like Leighann Spangler and Kylie Hall. Spangler led the team by serving an impressive 5 aces, contributing significantly to the team's momentum. Hall had an incredible play where she skillfully spiked the ball right over the net, making a crucial save that energized the squad. Despite missing some players, the girls played exceptionally hard, showing their resilience and teamwork.

 

7th Grade A Team played some AWESOME volleyball against a good Devine team, losing in 3 hard fought sets 27-25, 15-25, 12-15. These girls learned hitting transitions in less than a week and played at such a great level. Serving Aces from Gracen  (2), Brylyn  (1), Blu  (1), and Brooke  (1). Many of our girls attacked the ball very well with hitting kills from Gracen 3, Brooke 2, Hadley 1, Brylyn 1, and Maddie 1. Both of our Setters Blu and Gracen were doing a great job of setting up our hitters. Our backrow had a great game against a strong hitting team with digs coming from Elle (5), Brylyn (3), Brooke (3), Gracen (2) and Hadley (1). I love the tenacity these girls are playing with, and slowly working the kinks out. I am so proud of where they are at the moment and I can't wait to watch their love of the game grow! 

 

7B Lady Bulldogs won their second straight game against Devine on Wednesday. The team won in three sets losing the first 18-25 and winning the next two 25-22 and 15-12. Serves were great during the game as Makenzie Clay and Cealy Billings combined a total of 13 successful serves. Harley Randall, Bentley O'Donnal, and Kamilla Vazquez all showed great improvement during the game that benefited the team. Overall the girls communicated well and played with confidence to achieve this win. The team will continue to practice hard to be ready for their next game at Uvalde on Monday.
