BMS Volleyball vs. Carrizo Springs 9/20/23

8th Grade A Team

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Carrizo Springs Wednesday, September 20th. In the first set the ladies fought to return the serves of the Lady Cats. Our goal for this game was to improve our serving and transitioning. Unfortunately we fell in the first game losing 9-25. After a quick huddle we were soon ready to get back in the game. We fought point for point but were unable to get the win with a set 2 score of 24-26. While the result was not what we hoped for I see great effort in these ladies as we continue to push for successful rotation, transitioning and communicating skills. Stats recorded are: Serving Aces: Isabella Pace: 5, Pyper Barnard: 1, Mckenna Jones: 1, Kolbie Lawlis: 1, Taylor Marrs:1 Digs: Pyper Barnard: 4, Kinli Mcintosh: 3, Isabella Pace: 3 Kills: Pyper Barnard: 1, Kolbie Lawlis: 1, Mckenna Jones: 1, Briley Clark: 1, Haily Livingston: 1, Addison Ashcraft: 1  Assists: Briley Clark: 1, Kolbie Lawlis: 5, Alexis Fraizer: 1, Pyper Barnard: 1, Brynleigh Hauer: 1, Mckenna Jones: 1, Taylor Marrs: 2, Isabella Pace: 3, Mia Ranly: 2 Blocks: Haily Livingston: 1  The girls will face off with the Del Rio Queens as we travel to their home court to finish out the first round of district next Monday.

8th Grade B Team

In a thrilling volleyball showdown last night on our home turf, the Bandera B Team showcased their prowess by securing a resounding victory over Carrizo Springs. These girls have been working hard on new rotations, transitioning and teamwork. Highlights of the game were Jasmine Longoria with game changing serves. Dominating the net with assists and kills was Krista Goldstein, Karlee Hamilton, Ella Vollmer and Leighann Spangler. Back row was precise with their quick movement digging the ball. Aubrie Moore, Blake Waid, Olivia Walker, Gracelyn Upton, Kylie Hall and Emma Rynarzewski each contributed 3 power digs. Each young lady helped set the tone of a dominant performance over the Lady Cats. The B team's triumph was a true testament to their hard work and making it a night to remember.

7th Grade A Team

7th grade A team started off strong in a tough battle against Carrizo Springs, losing in 3 sets 25-9, 14-25, 10-15. We had some really great volleyball played by our girls and all of our hard work is slowly coming together. We had some strong plays at the net with kills from: Brooke 4, Gracen 2, Blu 1, but many of our athletes had hitting attempts. Serving Aces: Hadley 2, Gracen 1, Brooke 4. Our back row had a great game with moving to the ball to get the pass up for our setters, with digs coming from: Brylyn 7, Elle 5, Brooke 5, and Hadley 4. We are setting goals for our next game and that is to control the game and communicate. We will celebrate the small so we can win the big. Our next game will be on the road to Del Rio to go against the Lady Queens.

7th Grade B Team

7B Lady Bulldogs played against Carrizo Springs on Wednesday night, losing the game in two sets. Makensie Clay led the first set with a total of 12 successful serves and Ava Thompson had a one crucial kill during the final moments of the game. Unfortunately, the team lost 25-27. The second set was led by Cealy Billings and Brylee Phillips with good serves and the team fought hard until the end with the score 18-25. The team did not give up as they gave great effort on the court and will continue to grow and learn from each game.
