8th Grade A Team
Your 8th Grade Lady Bulldogs battled with Uvalde last night here at Bandera. The ladies started off strong, but were unable to hold off the Lobos. Set 1 was a nail biting win, 25-22. Set 2 Bandera fell short 17-25. In the 3rd set the Lobos came out with strong serves with Uvalde finishing on top 8-15. Mental toughness is a skill that we continue to work on with our girls, so that they will be able to persevere through anything. Each girl continues to work hard every day, getting stronger and learning that when there are hurdles left in your path, you have to step back, breathe, reset and jump over that hurdle. We travel to Carrizo Springs next week in hopes of coming home with a win to round out our travel for the season. 8th Grade B Team
Your 8B Lady Bulldogs fought hard Wednesday night in their match up with Uvalde. Unfortunately, in set one, we struggled to get our feet transitioning and fell to the Lobos 6-25. In set two, we were out for redemption and came back winning 25-22. We fought point for point in the beginning of set 3 but were unable to get the win with a game score of 8-15. While the result is not what we hoped for I see a great effort for these ladies working in transitioning, communicating, and pushing for the attack. We look forward to next week's match as we travel to Carrizo Springs. 7th Grade A Team
7th Grade A Team set the challenge for redemption and won in 2 sets 25-17 & 25-23. Our goal was to control the tempo of the game with our back row who played a tremendous game getting every pass up during serve receive. Our setters came through working hard to get sets up to our front row. We had a season high with attacks with 25 total. While being down 18-22 in the second set our girls fought with true grit to come back and win 25-23 with our last two points coming from Brooke Montelongo with TWO BIG BLOCKS!
7th Grade B Team
7B Lady Bulldogs played against Uvalde Wednesday night, winning the game in two sets! The team had the best communication with each other that played a vital role in the game. Kendall Schmidt led the first set with six successful serves and both Cealy Billings and Bentley O'Donnal helped the game with their communication and gameplay. The set was won 25-12.
Uvalde came back and gave great competition for the second set but the bulldogs were able to finish the game strong winning the game 25-23. Alivia Pack has improved her game all season and it definitely showed during the game as she took charge in the middle back position. Makayla Clay's serving has also improved as her final serves were critical in closing the game.
The team has now won eight games this season and are continuing to show how hard work pays off.
