Girls Basketball Recap vs. Pearsall on 11/8/23

8th Grade A Team
8th Grade A Team put up a defensive fight against Pearsall Dogies, but came up short with a score of 14-32. After only one day of full team practice these girls have done an amazing job of stopping them with our press, now our next goal will be to take care of the ball and limit our turnovers. Defense was our strong part of the game! We are starting to read the passers eyes and intercept the ball. Overall I am proud of how the girls fought the whole game. Scoring for Bandera was Briley Clark 7 points, 2 points each from Mia Ranly, Jessa Haws, Leighann Spangler and Pyper Barnard with 1 point.

8th Grade B team
The Lady Bulldog 8th grade B team overcame many obstacles, including first-game jitters, limited practice time, and missing 2 key players, to defeat Pearsall 12 to 10.  The Lady dogs started out slow, falling behind by 4 points in the first quarter, but they found their defensive groove in the second half and battled back for a 4th quarter come-from-behind win.

7th Grade A Team

7th Grade B Team
7B Girls Basketball played their first game of the season against Pearsall Wednesday night winning the game 12-10! The team competed against a tough Pearsall team but played strong throughout the game. Makayla Clay scored the first two points during the first half, Jazmine Rhodes scored two points in the second half, and Cealy Billings scored an impressive eight points in the final minutes of the game that secured the win! Defense was a key part of the game with great hustle from Shae Spofford, Harley Randall, and Ryley Boyd. This was an overall great start for the season and gives the team the correct foundation to learn and grow from this experience.
