8th Grade A Team
We started our second half of district play against Pearsall, losing in a close hard fought game 16-27. Our defense kept us within reach for all four quarters. I am so proud of the fight and heart our girls had, after a lot of adversity being placed in front of them they began to battle for their teammates. They were up for the challenge and made key turnovers on our press thanks to Mia Ranly, Kaylee Fried and Kolbie Lawlis. Now to fire up our offence after Christmas break.

8th Grade B Team
The Lady Bulldog 8th grade B team defeated Pearsall 38 to 16. The girls’ press was dominating in the first quarter, and the Bulldogs jumped out to a 13 to 4 lead. Jessa Haws, Madison Frazee, and Jada Bergfeld were the top scorers. Defensively, Jessa Haws and Gracie Upton frustrated the Pearsall point guard, providing several opportunities for steals. The 8th grade B team record improves to 4 wins and 2 losses for the season.
7th Grade A Team
Your 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs defeated Pearsall last night 27-15 in an outstanding production of basketball. Each girl played aggressively and with significant improvement in their skills. They worked hard last week tuning up our defense and focusing on staying in control. We hope to keep up the strong efforts during Christmas break so we can put the pressure back on Devine when we return in 2024. I'm so proud of these girls and their growth and teamwork as we tipped off round two of district play. Rehnahta Gomez worked hard setting up the offense and stealing the ball from the Lady Dogies with 2. Brooke Montelongo had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 1 block and 8 points. Sienna Collazo had a great night of defense with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Gracen Spruell had 2 rebounds, 3 steals and an energizing fast break for 2 points. Aaliyah Khan put major pressure on Pearsall with her quickness and strong defense. Gabrielle Colony added 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 points to the books. Makensie Clay contributed 1 steal and 1 block. Kassidy Sizemore with 1 steal and 1 offensive rebound for 2 points to the team. Maddie Arriola with 1 steal and 1 block. Blu Rollo also had 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and led with 10 points including an exciting 3 pointer to send the Lady Dogs on a successful press spree.
7th Grade B Team
7B Girls Basketball played against Pearsall Monday night winning the game 18-10.
The girls played great defense the entire game against a very competitive Pearsall team. Rebounding and steals were key factors in the game that showed the team's hustle on the court. The game was extremely close up until the 4th quarter where we scored a total of 8 points and secured the win. Cealy Billings, Ava Thompson, and Makayla Clay totaled 2 points each. Ryley Boyd and Jazmine Rhodes totaled 6 points each. This was an overall good win for the girls as they head into the Christmas break. We will prepare for our next game against Devine on January 11th when we return.
