8th Grade A Team
The 8th grade Lady Bulldogs ended their volleyball season with a loss to Devine in 3 sets, 25-23, 12-25, 10-15. They fought and played great volleyball, but were unable to come up with the rallies to win the game. I am so proud of these girls and all of their hard work they have put in this season. I have no doubt that they will be ready to take on high school volleyball, overcome fear of failures and get to their next level of performance. This has been an amazing year with a lot of improvement and growth each week. Thank you for an amazing season. I can't wait to see you next year. 8th Grade B Team
The 8th grade B team won their final game against Devine in 3 sets: 22-25, 25-18, and 15-11. The Bulldogs lost to Devine in their first match of the season, yet despite losing both setters to injuries during the game, these girls battled back to get the win. Makayla and Makensie Clay led the Lady Dogs from the serving line; Grace Walker was on target with her passing, and Jayla Hinojo was dominant at the net with 7 kills. This win brings the 8th grade B team's record to 6 wins and 2 losses.
7th Grade A Team
The 7th grade A team played in our last game on Monday against Devine. Our girls lost in two close games 19-25 and 22-25. Although we didn't get the win, I have seen nothing but relentless effort throughout the season. From game one to the end of the season these girls have put in so many hours of work and you saw the cohesiveness of the team. We had athletes rise above their mental toughness and get each serve over when the other team had 24 points, and I am so proud of them! They can proudly say that they are able to transition to their position spots, hitting coverage spots, and their serve receive spots. We added a libero to our last two games and they were able to run with the punches. I am so proud of these young athletes and I cannot wait to see them continue to grow and learn as a team. They were able to hold themselves and each other accountable for their actions and they are always wanting to be better and stronger as one.
7th Grade B Team
In a hard fought match to close out our season, the 7th Grade B team Bulldogs fell short against Devine. Ending our season with a record of 5-3. The team came out with strong teamwork and determination. We had strong serves from Nataley Guel, Emma Spofford, and Vanessa Gonzales. We greatly improved our serve receive throughout the season and it showed in the game. The team all showed great leadership, driving energy and focus on the court. Though the final game didn’t end as we hoped, the Bulldogs have much to celebrate with a season of hard work and improvement.
