We are proud to announce that Mrs. Megan Thaler will serve as the next Principal of Hill Country Elementary beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Megan brings 17 years of experience in education and has served Bandera ISD in multiple impactful roles. Most recently, she has been the Assistant Principal at Bandera Middle School for the past three years. Prior to that, she served at Hill Country Elementary as a teacher, reading specialist, and Testing/ESL/504 Coordinator.
Mrs. Thaler has been a dedicated and consistent leader within Bandera ISD, building strong relationships across campuses and contributing significantly to student success. Her return to Hill Country Elementary marks a meaningful “homecoming” to the campus where much of her earlier career was shaped.
Superintendent Gary Bitzkie shared, “Mrs. Thaler knows this campus, its families, and its traditions. We are excited for her to return to Hill Country Elementary in a leadership role and continue building on its strong foundation while bringing fresh energy and ideas to support students and staff.”
Mrs. Thaler will begin her administrative duties as Principal in July 2026.
