This is the part about a four-day school week that’s easy to overlook.
When you only have four school days each week, missing just one means missing 25% of the school week.
And those four days are packed. Our school day is 501 minutes long, compared to about 420 minutes in a typical five-day district. That means one absence at Bandera ISD can mean about 19% more instructional time missed.
There’s no fifth day in the week to spread out the learning. When a student misses Monday, everything they missed has to be caught up while Tuesday’s learning is already moving forward.
Four days. Four opportunities every week. Every one of them counts.
