September is National Attendance Awareness Month, and all month long, we’re talking about why being here matters.
The research tells a clear story: Strong attendance in the early grades is connected to reading success. In middle school, it helps keep students on track for high school. And by ninth grade, attendance is one of the strongest indicators of whether a student will graduate.
Every day builds on the one before it. Every day missed is time that’s hard to replace.
We’re not asking for perfect attendance. We’re asking families to make every day they can count.
